Dolmens and Celtic ruins testify to the antiquity of human occupation of the Castro Laboreiro high plain. Walk the routes of the cattle herders, still used today, to transfer their animals from summer to winter pastures. Cross medieval bridges, explores Celtic "castros" (enclosed settlements), and drink from crystalline streams and brooks. Delight in the perfect natural balance of this remarkable ecosystem.

The forest shelters can accommodate up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms. Both houses offer 2 complete bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens, hot water, bedding and towels. 30 kgs. of firewood are supplied everyday by the park services to keep the large fireplaces well stoked from October to April. Each house also has an outdoor grill. "Barreiro" has electric current for lighting. "Pico do Pássaro" is supplied with gas lanterns.

We are pleased to offer a hand-crafted basket of regional products for any reservation of the houses for more than 7 days.

Enjoy all the outdoor and leisure activities organized by "Versana" - riding, BTT, archery, canoeing, rafting and rappel.
