The
principal characteristic and wealth of this park is the continuing human
occupation by an agricultural based society, which to this day still practices
"transumância" of its cattle - the annual transfer of
herds from summer to winter pastures. This human presence in harmony with
soaring eagles, herds of wild horses, mountain goats, and wolves.
Rich
in stories and history, you'll be charmed as you listen to the lore as
told by these people, descendants of the builders of "castros"
and dolmens, whose women dress in the black of mourning when their men
folk wander far to work.
